$25k reward offered as LA County detectives search for suspect that killed 20-year-old in 2020
A $25,000 reward has been offered for information regarding an ongoing homicide investigation stemming from a 20-year-old Los Angeles County man's fatal shooting in 2020.
The shooting happened back on July 6, 2020, at around 11 p.m., when Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department detectives say that Edgar Vasquez was "shot while driving near his home" at the intersection of E. 135th Street and Avalon Boulevard, according to a social media post asking for help from the public.
"He suffered critical injuries and passed away the following day," the post said.
Despite years of investigation, detectives have been unable to identify or locate a suspect or suspects in Vasquez's killing. They have identified two vehicles that they believe were involved in the incident. One of the vehicles appears to be a dark-colored pickup truck, and the other a white SUV.
"The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the identification and arrest of the person or persons responsible for Edgar Vasquez's murder," the post said.
Anyone who knows more was urged to contact LASD's Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500 or to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477).
