According to officials, the fire broke out shortly after 1 p.m. in the 3700 block of Union Pacific Avenue.

Crews described the fire as a 50-by-25 pile of "baled goods" that briefly threatened structures near the Los Angeles County-Vernon boundary.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire within 30 minutes, authorities said.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
