LAPD Chief Beck Expected Back At Work Monday Following Motocross Accident

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck is expected to return to work on Monday after suffering what appeared to be minor injuries in a motocross accident.

Police say the accident happened on Thursday, but did not release additional details.

Sources told the Los Angeles Times that Beck injured his shoulder and underwent a medical procedure.

The newspaper also states that the 59-year-old Beck is a motocross veteran who specializes in riding vintage motorcycles.

He has reportedly competed in various categories of motocross and off-road racing since the 1970s.
