STUDIO CITY (CBS) — A coastal eddy is spinning up, helping to strengthen the marine layer.

Most residents in the basin will wake up to clouds, and some valley residents could have gray skies as well.

Look for clearing later this morning or early afternoon by the beach. We will have some cooler daytime highs Wednesday.

The high pressure will expand for the weekend, which will squash the marine layer and warm us up.

Right now, the forecast models are showing off a little lift for Sunday that could translate into a thunderstorm chance and a possible shower. It will also be quite humid this weekend.

Mountains – mid 70s
Deserts – mid 90s
