Irvine Police Nab 43-Year-Old For Alleged Bank Robbery

IRVINE (CBSLA.com) — The Irvine Police Department arrested a 43-year-old man Saturday and accused him of bank robbery.

Officials said they nabbed Amir Hajisheikhi moments after he allegedly held up a Wells Fargo in Irvine.

Police responded to a silent robbery alarm at the Wells Fargo branch located at 18044 Culver Drive just before 4 p.m.

Two minutes after they arrived, officials set up a perimeter near the bank.

Authorities said they located Hajisheikhi trying to flee the area on foot.

The suspect was detained without incident.

Police said currency linking him to the crime was found on his person.

Authorities said Hajisheikhi wasn't carrying a weapon nor was one used during the commission of the alleged robbery.

Hajisheikhi was booked at the Orange County Jail and bail was set at $100,000.
