Huskies Look For 3rd Straight Win Over Trojans

(CBS) -- For the second straight year, the Washington Huskies travel to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum to take on the USC Trojans on Saturday.

With just three games left in the season for the Trojans, the Huskies present a must-win situation if they want to win the Pac-12 South division.

USC is tied with UCLA and Arizona State at 4-2 in conference play, with a trip to #6 Oregon next week and the Bruins to wrap-up the season.

UCLA has games at Utah, home to Colorado and USC left on their schedule, while the Sun Devils travel to Pullman to battle the Cougars, then will host Arizona and Cal to finish their regular season.

For the Huskies, Saturday's game is a bit of a homecoming.

Quarterback Keith Price is from Compton and Head Coach Steve Sarkisian recruited Matt Barkley, while he was coaching at USC.

To say Sarkisian is impressed with Barkley's potential, would be an understatement.

"If I'm an NFL head coach, right now, I'd pick Matt Barkley ahead of Andrew Luck," Sarkisian said. "I think he's playing at that high of a level. I think where he fits into the National Football League in his pocket presence and what Lane (is) doing with him, the variety of offense they're playing with, his ability to make all the throws, anticipate throws, throwing them on time, throwing them accurately, he's fantastic to me."

Washington is bowl eligible at 6-3, but looking for their first win over a top-25 opponent.

In their three losses, all to ranked teams, the Huskies have lost by an average of more than 24 points a game.
