Hundreds Attend Rams Booster Club Rally In Sante Fe Springs

LOS ANGELES ( — An estimated 500 people attended the Southern California Rams Booster Club Event in Santa Fe Springs on Saturday.

Just days after the Rams announced their return to Los Angeles, many locals attended the rally at Maggie's Pub in Sante Fe Springs.

Victor Gutierrez was heading home from work when he heard the news.

"I think my whole body went numb," Gutierrez said.

He was just one of hundreds of Rams fans at the rally today who were partying and celebrating the team's return.

Tony Zendejas, a former kicker for the Rams from 1991-1994, was in attendance at the rally and proud to represent the Rams teams of the past.

He was even wearing his own jersey which he had previously kept in a frame at home.

"It still fits! Still fits," Zendejas said.

Former Pro-Bowler Leroy Irvin was also at the event.

Irvin played for the Rams from 1980-1989, and was selected to two Pro-Bowls as a cornerback.

"This city is on fire," Irvin said.

"I've been coming to these events for four or five years, the fans are so excited, I'm so excited," he added.

The Rams will play in the Los Angeles Coliseum until their new stadium in Inglewood is ready in 2019.
