Holiday Wine Pairing Tips And Tricks From Mirassou Winery

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Wine expert and sixth generation of America's oldest winemaking family, David Mirassou, stopped by the KCAL9 studios Monday to share some tips and tricks for holiday entertaining with wine.

Growing up at the family's historic winery, David has been involved in every aspect of the winemaking process, from planting and harvesting to barreling and bottling. David knew at an early age that he would continue to be involved in the wine business.

Mirassou has made entertaining easy with its free, downloadable entertaining kit, complete with a tasting mat, scoring sheet, pairing guide and recipes to use as a guide for setting up a tasting.

David added that there really are no "rules" to food and wine pairing; however, there is but one simple guideline: pair lighter foods with lighter wines and heartier foods with bolder wines. Feel free to make up your pairings and enjoy a variety of food and wine combinations!
