High Temperatures Across The Southland To Create 'Elevated Fire Danger'

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The sun will bake the Southland again Monday, resulting in "elevated fire danger," according to the National Weather Service.

The extreme heat, combined with low humidity levels and winds, will create the high fire danger. However, red flag conditions are not expected, officials said.

"Maximum temperatures will once again approach or exceed record levels," the NWS said in an advisory.

Health officials recommend residents stay hydrated, remain indoors and turn on air conditioning. Those who must go outside should do so in the morning or evening hours.

"It's not even 6 yet and it's already getting hot out here, so I can just imagine how it's going to be later on," Burbank resident Maria Aguilar said.

Temperatures could reach triple digits in inland areas, but a cooling trend is expected to start Wednesday.
