Health Warning Issued After Chicken In El Segundo Tests Positive For West Nile Virus
EL SEGUNDO (CBSLA.com) — Authorities issued a health warning Wednesday after a chicken in El Segundo tested positive for West Nile virus.
The virus, which is transmitted through the bite of infected mosquitoes, has been recorded in 82 of 361 Los Angeles County zip codes.
The mosquitoes get infected when they feed on birds that carry the virus.
