Haylock: Bruins Defense Keys Win

LOS ANGELES (AP) --  Lazeric Jones scored 19 points, Tyler Lamb had 14 and UCLA beat Eastern Washington 60-47 on Wednesday night, giving the Bruins their first back-to-back victories of the season.

Jones made three 3-pointers and added six rebounds and three steals for the undermanned Bruins (4-5), who gained separation with an 11-1 run in the second half.

Collin Chiverton scored 15 points and Tremayne Johnson 12 for Eastern Washington (5-5).

UCLA starting forward Travis Wear missed the game while hospitalized with a skin infection on his left foot.

Chiverton hit three straight 3-pointers as part of a 12-2 spurt that got the Eagles within 32-30 six minutes into the second half.

But Joshua Smith made a pair of free throws and David Wear hit a jumper to extend UCLA's advantage to 43-31.
