German Shorthaired Pointer From SoCal Takes Top Honor At Westminster Dog Show

TEMECULA (CBSLA.com) — The competition was rough but a German shorthaired pointer from Southern California has won barking rights in a dog show in New York.

The dog named C.J. was named this year's top dog at the Westminster Kennel Club dog show at Madison Square Garden.

The competition started with nearly 3,000 dogs representing 199 breeds.

It came down to only seven dogs in the finals Tuesday night and C.J. won the title of "best in show," which is the top honor at the competition.

The dog show is in its 140th year.
