Firefighters Rescue Dog Trapped In Collapsed Septic Tank
CALIMESA (CBS) — Firefighters rescued a dog trapped deep down a collapsed septic tank in Calimesa, a county fire department said Monday.
Crews of four fire engines and 18 firefighters were dispatched at 8:18 p.m. Sunday to a house in the 200 block of Myrtlewood Drive, the spokeswoman said.
The dog, and 8-12-month-old black pit bull weighing approximately 25-30 pounds, was stuck 15-20 feet down the hole and was retrieved unharmed by firefighters at 10:12 p.m., she said.
Once the dog was rescued, it was transported to a night holding kennel at the Beaumont Police Department, the spokeswoman added.
Firefighters did not know who owned the pit bull.
