Fire Victim Dismayed By Looters

FONTANA (CBSLAcom) — Sheriff's deputies say they caught three people trying to loot burned out properties.

Sandy Butler is among those using a Fontana helter.  She fled her home in Lytle Creek as the flames barreled toward her community. She can't fathom how anyone could take advantage of such a desperate situation.

"I count on law enforcement, but they can only do so much and people know how to get around that," She said "It is just so sad."

The three people arrested were caught by a neighbor who called police. When deputies showed up, detectives found  the trio loading their loot onto a flatbed truck. They told deputies they had permission to be there.
