Fire At Sherman Oaks Motel Knocked Down

SHERMAN OAKS (CBSLA.com) — One person suffered a minor injury when a fire erupted at a Sherman Oaks motel.

The fire started in the electrical room on the second floor, burned one utility room and spread to the roof of the Best Western motel, 5525 Sepulveda Blvd., just before 4 p.m., Los Angeles Fire department spokesman Erik Scott said.

Fifty firefighters were dispatched to the scene and knocked down the fire within 24 minutes, Scott said.

One person at the scene was treated for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
