FBI On The Hunt For Brazen 'Greenhorn' Bandits

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Three men believed to have robbed three banks in the last two weeks remained at large Saturday, officials said.

The so-called "Greenhorn Bandits" are suspected in a May 16 robbery at the Cal Bank & Trust branch in Diamond Bar; a robbery at Cal Bank & Trust branch in San Dimas on Monday and another on Thursday at the Community Bank branch in Redlands, Laura Eimiller of the FBI said.

"During the three robberies, the bandits were seen using handguns," Eimiller said. "Witnesses described being ordered to get on the ground and put their hands up while the suspects demanded cash."

The men are described as either black or Latino and are between 25 to 33 years of age, Eimiller said. They are 5-feet-8 inches tall to 6-feet tall and are suited up in hoodies and sweatshirts. Their getaway car is described as a silver or light-colored Dodge Avenger, she added.

"The group was nicknamed the Greenhorn Bandits due to the fact that witnesses described them as clumsy and inexperienced, which investigators note could add to the potential for violence," Eimiller said, adding that the suspects are considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with more information is asked to contact the FBI at (888) 226-8443 or dial 911.
