Driver Of Alleged Stolen Impala Runs Over 2 Motorcyclists, Collides With Vehicle During LAPD Pursuit

INGLEWOOD (CBS) — SKY2 was live overhead Friday evening as LAPD officers pursued the driver of an alleged stolen vehicle.

Police began to pursue the silver Chevy Impala on the 405 San Diego Freeway. The driver exited the freeway in Inglewood and struck two motorcyclists near the intersection of La Cienega Boulevard and Saluson Avenue.

He then led police on a slow speed chase, performing dangerous maneuvers, colliding with another vehicle, and at one time driving the wrong way down La Cienega.

The pursuit ended in the driveway of an apartment complex near La Cienega and Centinela Avenue.

Police took the driver into custody.

The drivers of the motorcycles were transported to a local hospital.
