2 Allegedly Reeking Of Alcohol, In Critical Condition After Car Rolls Over Several Times

CATHEDRAL CITY (CBS) — A driver and passenger, believed to be a husband and wife, are both critical Saturday after their car rolled over several times in Cathedral City, according to authorities.

Officers sent to the crash scene at 2:02 a.m., said they found a rolled and wrecked Ford Mustang at Date Palm Drive at Vista Chino.

They said they also found a woman crawling out of the passenger side of the car saying she couldn't find her husband.

Cathedral City Police Sgt. Corwin de Veas said after a search, officers found the male driver had been ejected from the car. Officers said both the driver and passenger reeked from alcohol.

Paramedics rushed both to an area hospital.

Witnesses told police the car was going more than 100 mph at the time of the crash.

Officials said the driver had reportedly been cited previously for driving without a license and was cited for the same offense again.

Other charges, including DUI, reckless driving, and speeding, are also likely.
