Dodgers Take On Yankees In Their 1st Old-Timer's Game Since 1995

LOS ANGELES ( — The Los Angeles Dodgers will host their first Old-Timer's game since 1995 Saturday evening at Dodgers Stadium.

The game begins at 5:30 p.m.

The Dodgers team will be manged by Tommy Lasorda. A team of Old-Timer Yankees will be managed by actor Billy Crystal, an uber Yankees fan.

The Old-Timer Dodgers include Bill Buckner, Ron Cey, Tommy Davis, Ron Fairly, Steve Garvey, Pedro Guerrero, Mickey Hatcher, Lou Johnson, Sandy Koufax, Ken Landreaux, Davey Lopes, Rick Monday, Manny Mota, Don Newcombe, Jerry Reuss, Bill Russell, Darryl Strawberry, Dick Tracewski, Fernando Valenzuela, Bob Welch, Maury Wills, Don Sutton and Steve Yeager.

The Yankees roster includes Paul Blair, Rick Cerone, Chris Chambliss, Ron Davis, Al Downing, Dwight Gooden, "Goose" Gossage, Rickey Henderson, Jay Johnstone, Jim Leyritz, Graig Nettles and Bob Watson.

Valenzuela is expected to start for the Dodgers and Gooden is expected to start for the Yankees.

The game commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Dodgers' four-game sweet of the Yankees in the 1963 World Series. The first 40,000 fans are to receive a replica of the Dodgers' championship rings.

The schedule of events for this afternoon are as follows:

4:10 p.m. - Gates open to the public

4:30 - 5:15 p.m. – Old Timers' Game Batting Practice

5:20 p.m. – Old Timers' Introductions

5:30 – 6:30 p.m. – Old Timers' Game
