Disney Wonder To Leave Port Of Los Angeles In December

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The Disney Wonder will cruise out of the Port of Los Angeles later this year to launch a new series of trips from Miami.

The 964-foot ocean liner came here last year as part of a two-year deal, but Disney canceled the Wonder's last four Mexican Rivera cruises from Los Angeles.

Officials say the cruise industry has suffered because of drug cartel violence in Mexico, and most recently, as a result of the Costa Concordia tragedy.

Beginning in December, the Disney Wonder will offer four- and five-night cruises from Miami to the Bahamas and the Western Caribbean.

Officials from the Port of Los Angeles have not commented on the ship's big move.
