Detectives Continue Search For Suspect In Stabbing Death Of Homeless Man
INDUSTRY (CBS) — Sheriff's detectives continue to look for a suspect in the stabbing death of a homeless man found Aug. 29 behind a strip mall in unincorporated Bassett.
Adan Moran, 53, of Honduras, was found in a kneeling position with one leg on a wooden post, the San Gabriel Valley Tribune reported. It was unclear how long Moran had been dead when he was found, but an autopsy showed he died of stab wounds, according to the coroner's office.
"We don't have a suspect identified yet," sheriff's Lt. Dave Dolson said.
Moran collected and sold recyclables worth $2 to $4 every day, Sergio Lopez of Greenhouse Recycling Co. told the newspaper.
"He didn't really like to talk about his background. But I do know he was from Honduras and that he used to work in a body shop until the work ran out. He was always talking about how there was no work out there," Lopez said.
