Coroner's Office Veteran Accused Of Sexually Battering Co-Worker

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com)  —  Authorities say a veteran employee of the LA County Coroner's Office sexually battered a colleague.

Detectives with the Los Angeles Police Department Robbery-Homicide Division's Special Assault Section are conducting an investigation involving 46-year-old Ryan Hays. Officials say Hays is a nine year employee of the Coroner's Office.

A female employee, who works as a coroner investigator, was allegedly sexually battered in the workplace by Hays on Jan. 4. He also allegedly sent her lewd and obscene pictures despite her objections repeatedly.

The City Attorney's Office filed one count of sexual battery, six counts of harassment and one count of exposure of private parts.

Hays was arrested Thursday for the above charges.
