Construction Begins Along Busy Los Feliz Boulevard
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A major construction project on Los Feliz Boulevard, which is expected to cause traffic disruptions, began Tuesday morning.
Much of the boulevard will be blocked between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. weekdays whiles crews work to replace underground electric lines, according to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.

During construction hours, one westbound lane will be open to traffic on Los Feliz at the Hillhurst Avenue intersection.
Los Feliz Reduced To One Lane During Construction Project
The city is prepared for traffic impacts and plans to station traffic control officers at major intersections to ease the congestion, officials said.
"This is an improvement that will provide a much-needed upgrade to our power infrastructure," Councilmember Tom LaBonge said in a letter. "Unfortunately, there will be unavoidable traffic impacts associated with the construction on Los Feliz Boulevard. We cannot take these impacts lightly."
The closures, which may include some Saturdays, are expected to last through early May, to the dismay of drivers.

A second phase of the project will involve digging up five of the seven lanes on Los Feliz west of Vermont Avenue. That is scheduled to begin in June.
