Chief Beck, The Game Team Up In PSA To #StopTheViolence

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck has teamed up with rapper The Game in a campaign aimed at stopping the violence.

The video was released Tuesday via Twitter days after meeting amid the growing tensions between police officers and the African-American community nationwide.

"It's time for a change," Beck said in the 45-second clip. "It's time to stop the violence."

He said via Twitter that he, along with The Game, and the LAPD have launched the campaign.

The public service announcement comes with the hashtags #StopTheViolence, #BeTheChange, and #LAUnites.

Beck and The Game met with Mayor Eric Garcetti and Snoop Dogg following an ambush in Dallas in which five officers were killed, and the deadly officer-involved shootings of two unarmed black men in Minnesota and Louisiana.
