Celebrity Chef Jet Tila To Host LA's First-Ever Thai Food Festival

Did you know that Los Angeles is considered the "77th province" of Thailand and is home to the world's first Thai Town?

The City of Angels is home to roughly 80,000 of California's estimated 120,000 Thai people, the largest outside of Thailand. The popularity of Thai food is increasing every year and this year, celebrity Chef Jet Tila, in partnership with the Thai Trade Center, will be hosting the very first Thai Food Festival.

From Bangkok (BKK), the capital of Thailand, to the heart of Los Angeles, on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, from 3:30 to 6 p.m., Thai Culinary Ambassador and celebrity chef personality Jet Tila connects culture seekers with the five fundamental flavors of "YUM" — spicy, sweet, sour, salty, and bitter — at the inaugural Thai Food Festival: BKK 2 LAX.

This food festival will be at Paramount Pictures Studio and is a perfect way to spend the day with family and friends. Throughout the event, guests are invited to join feature discussions and demos with prominent Thai and American culinary personalities including STREET's Susan Feniger, Night + Market's Kris Yenbamroong and Lukshon's Sang Yoon.

Sample and savor national dishes and delicacies from the four regions of Thailand served by street food vendors and authentic Thai restaurants including, Jitlada, Ruen Pair, Pa Ord, Thai Society, Thai Nakorn, Bhan Kanom Thai, Lum Ka Naad, Sapp Coffee Shop, Siam Sunset, and more. Besides all the eating and drinking, you can also watch live Muay Thai martial arts demonstrations, traditional dances and more. Admission is $50 and includes access to culinary discussion panels and demonstrations with celebrity guest chefs, food and drink tastings, and live entertainment.
