Caught On Video: Gunman Robs 2 Cashiers At Church's Chicken In Jefferson Park
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Police have released surveillance video of a robbery of a Church's Chicken restaurant in the Jefferson Park area in the hopes someone will recognize the gunman.
The robbery at the restaurant, at 1811 W. Jefferson Blvd., took place about 10:20 a.m. Sunday, LAPD officials said.
Surveillance video shows a man entering the restaurant and waiting for customers to leave before confronting the cashier with a gun, according to authorities.
The cashier handed over money and the suspect then demanded money from a second register, police said. When the second cashier had trouble opening the register drawer, the robber became angry and fired a round from his handgun. The cashier then opened the drawer and gave the gunman the money.
The robber fled the scene in a newer model dark blue Nissan, eastbound on Jefferson Boulevard.
The gunman was described as Hispanic, about 5 feet 8 and between 170 and 190 pounds. He was believed to be about 35 years old and was last seen wearing a gray baseball hat, a gray long-sleeve shirt and dark blue pants.
Anyone with information on the suspect can call LAPD Southeast Division detectives at (213) 485-2561.
