Castlewood Fire In Fullerton May Have Been Sparked By Flare Gun
FULLERTON (CBSLA) — An 11-acre brush fire which broke out in Fullerton Wednesday night and forced evacuations may have been sparked by a flare gun.
The Castlewood Fire erupted near Castlewood and Coyote Hills drives at around 7:40 p.m., forcing residents in the surrounding neighborhood to evacuate.
Those evacuations were lifted by 10 p.m., and the fire was fully contained by 7:45 a.m. Thursday. No homes were damaged and no one was hurt.
The Fullerton Police Department reported Thursday that a flare gun was found near the fire. Fullerton Fire Department investigators are working to determine whether that flare gun sparked the blaze.
