Camp Pendleton Marine Who Died In Skydiving Accident In Perris ID'd

PERRIS (CBSLA.com) — The Camp Pendleton Marine who died in a skydiving accident in Perris Tuesday has been identified as a 26-year-old man from Burlington, Colo.

Caleb Medley was killed around 3 p.m. when his parachute reportedly failed to open near Perris Valley Airport in the 2000 block of Goetz Road.

Circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, but the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said Medley was part of an active military training exercise at Skydive Perris with a group of Marines from Camp Pendleton.

The accident is under investigation.
