Robbers Hit Rapper's Beverly Grove Home, Threaten His Sister At Gunpoint

BEVERLY GROVE ( — Several robbers broke into the Beverly Grove home of a rapper and threaten his sister with a gun.

The home invasion was reported at about 11:45 p.m. Tuesday at the home of Rakim Mayers, better known as A$AP Rocky, near the intersection of Beverly Boulevard and Flores Street.

Police said three men, wearing masks and gloves broke into the rapper's house through a window and confronted his sister.

One of the intruders held a gun to her head and forced her to open a safe, but she didn't know the code, according to investigators.

So the robbers tried to take the safe, but later left it on the sidewalk and took off.

"It was something that three individuals were able to carry off but not able to get inside a vehicle. So obviously, it was quite heavy," said Capt. Patricia Sandoval of the Los Angeles Police Department.

The robbers got away with $1.5 million worth of jewelry, police said.

The rapper's sister, who was not identified, was not physically hurt, but was shaken by the ordeal.

A$AP Rocky became the nineth celebrity, whose home was targeted by burglars and robbers across the L.A. area since January.

Among other victims were Kendall Jenner, Dodgers star Yasiel Puig, former L.A. Laker Derek Fisher and singer Alanis Morisette.
