Pumpkin Pie is the obvious tasty treat eaten on Thanksgiving, but far less predictable desserts are always welcome. Whether you are looking for something to neatly seal the deal on your fabulous dinner at the end of the meal or you are yearning to nibble whenever the mood strikes this holiday weekend, there's something for everyone. Diners will start their meal with family-style presentations of wild arugula, pomegranate & delicata squash; a savory Gruyere & Caramelized Onion Tart; and Country Pate & Pickles before selecting an individual entree. An assortment of tasty sides such as sausage & raisin stuffing, yukon gold potato puree, cranberry sauce, brussels sprouts, and assorted mushrooms will be presented for diners to share alongside their main plates. For dessert, the restaurant will offer rustic sweets that include a pumpkin chiffon pie, pecan pie and chocolate hazelnut marjolaine. Or, decide to take a Thanksgiving pie to go!

Double-threat chef de cuisine and pastry chef Rebecca Merhej will whip up some great desserts this holiday season with her fresh spin on the bundt cake. Beginning on November 7th, the Cal-Italian restaurant will offer her seasonally-inspired bundt cakes for guests to bring home for holiday shindigs and dinner parties through the end of the year. It will be available until December 31st, 2016. Make sure to order 48 hours in advance. Other offerings include a Spiced Pumpkin Bundt Cake with a mascarpone frosting & toasted pumpkin seeds, a chocolate olive oil Bundt Cake with chocolate chips and chocolate nutella glaze, and a Gluten-Free Almond Hazelnut Bundt Cake with seasonal fruit and vanilla.

From such crazy concoctions as sweet potato casserole with maple pecans (a re-thinking of one of Thanksgiving's favorite sides made with rich sweet potato ice cream and balanced by a light ribbon of maple syrup marshmallow fluff) to buttered mashed potatoes and gravy (yes, this is a turkey day classic made into a dessert with the main attraction being gravy made of white chocolate), the options are forever clever. No doubt an imaginative dessert chef is behind all the swell dessert selections found at the highly creative, Venice-based Salt & Straw. The great ice creamery will also be offering great Thanksgiving flavors including sweet potato casserole with maple pecans, buttered mashed potatoes and gravy, California acorn and chestnut stuffing, spiced goat cheese and pumpkin pie, and salted caramel Thanksgiving turkey. These flavors will be offered at their Larchmont Village, Venice, Studio City and DTLA locations.
