If Valentine's Day draws nearer and you find yourself without plans, don't be alarmed. There are many options in Orange County that you might not think of for Valentine's Day. From music to dinner shows, here are five shows that will surprise any valentine.

Show your date old world chivalry and be her "knight in shining armor" with a dinner show at the Castle Upon Buena Park. Let the king entertain you both with wizardry and pageantry. Be the king's guest with a medieval supper while cheering on your favorite knight as they joust and sword fight to the "death," as there can be only one victorious knight. After the show, you can mingle with the royal family and knights, be merry and enjoy drinks and dancing.

Let your princess have her heart aflutter with a night of swashbuckling adventure and shenanigans. The hope of love from a beautiful princess will sway a handsome pirate of his pillaging ways. A bountiful fare fit for a king or queen is served while swordfights, aerial artistry and acrobatics unfold on an 18th-century Spanish galleon.

The Gourmet Detective is having a lovers' special on Valentine's Day in The Tee Room at The Newport Beach Golf Course. "Darling, You Slay Me – A Murder in 3 Acts" is set at an exclusive soiree at Lardi's, where Broadway's best and brightest come to see and be seen. As the cast and crew wait for the reviews to hit the streets, the players mysteriously fall one by one. Watch as these murders unravel through the personalities of these 1920s Broadway actors. The show includes a three-course dinner with your choice of four special entrees and Godiva chocolate for two.

The Hot Sardines are a unique jazz band from New York layering a brass lineup, rhythm section led by a stride-piano virtuoso in Fats Waller vein and a frontwoman with a voice from another era. Bandleader Evan "Bibs" Palazzo and lead singer Miz Elizabeth, along with the Sardine ensemble of powerhouse musicians, play "hot jazz" taking you back to an era where live music was king. The Sardine sounds is a fusion of musical influences from New York, Paris and New Orleans nurtured by the Prohibition era through the Great Depression, WWII and beyond. They even have their very own tap dancer.

R&B Singer Brenton Wood sways couples with his reggae/blues beat on this special Valentine's Day evening performance. Wood is known for his 1967 hits "The Oogum Boogum Song" and "Gimme Little Sign," which you probably know from the chorus as, "Give me some kind of sign, girl…" Special guest Soto brings their Latin, funk, R&B dance music to the mix for an evening of great music.
