One of the best parts of the holiday season is the food, specifically all of the delicious desserts that pop up at parties and on dining room tables. If you are wondering which bakeries are offering fantastic sweets for the holidays, we've put together a few that will not disappoint. If you crave pumpkin well into the month of December, don't fret. Platine has you covered. The bakery sells a little something called the Pumpkin Napoleon that features a small round of pumpkin cake, cream cheese frosting between the layers and on top, in addition to a pepita garnish. December also brings the Peppermint Platino with its chocolate cookies with a layer of peppermint oil-laced cream filling and a sprinkling of crushed peppermint candies.

Sweet Rose Creamery not only boasts a new location in Santa Monica, but Chef Shiho Yoshikawa has also created two holiday desserts that truly summarize the season. For the pie lovers, try the eggnog pie, s'mores pie, malted chocolate with hazelnut pie or the Cranberry Pistachio Ice Cream Pie which comes with a chocolate crust with a filling of vanilla ice cream, cranberries and salted pistachios and is then topped with a cranberry compote and whipped milk.

The Downtown bakery is the home of the ding-a-ling, a play on an old-school Hostess dessert, the ding dong. A double layer of moist chocolate cake sandwiches cream, then the little cake is drenched in chocolate ganache. Great holiday flavors include Hazelnut Crunch and Caramel Macchiato, as well as the traditional Chocolate, Red Velvet and Peanut Butter Crunch.

Husband and wife team Pascal and Audrey Achcar have just opened a new bakery specializing in meringue cakes filled with whipped cream and sprinkled with white chocolate curls. Bon Nuage, which means beautiful cloud in French, is one-of-a-kind and brings a new element of Parisian-inspired desserts to Los Angeles. Pop into the shop to pick up mini cakes or one of the larger sizes perfect for special occasions. Flavors include Dark Chocolate, Salted Caramel, Pistachio, Almond, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Nutella, Chocolate Mint, in addition to many more, as well as gluten-free and dairy-free alternatives.

Creamy puddings in a cup. There are few packaged desserts better than that. Olive & Thyme sells its specialty puddings in-store, but now, you can place an order for delivery nationwide. With the arrival of December, the month's seasonal flavors will be Salted Caramel, Egg Nog and Chocolate Peppermint. Order a package of three with each flavor, or go overboard with your favorite.
