Best Spring Festivals In Los Angeles

Nothing beats spring in Southern California. Even Los Angeles seem cheerier as the trees and flowers begin to bloom and blossom. It's also the perfect temperature for outdoor activities. There're are lots of things to do in LA and festivals are always a fun way Angelenos spend some quality time out in the fresh air. While spring may be fleeting, there is still plenty happening before the summer and its notorious heat arrives. Take in any of these Los Angeles festivals and have a fabulous spring day. *All listed events do not allow pets into the fairgrounds or for pets to be left inside of parked cars.

Combine shopping, carnival rides, arts and crafts, a petting zoo, a dog show, international food court and live music into one location and you've got the 2015 Palos Verdes Street Fair! Admission starts at 10am and it's free for everyone. Their petting zoo is also free as well as pony rides for kids. Bigger kids can take a spin on the Zipper, Super Shot and the Tornado, just to name a few. Save a few bucks with the all-day wristband and get unlimited rides all day and night. And make sure you don't miss out on the one-of-a-kind carnival cuisine with bbq, sausage sandwiches, cotton candy, shaved ice, roasted peanuts and much more!

If you love Latin food and music, then you must go to the Sancocho Latin Music, Dance & Food Festival. Celebrate the culture of Mexico, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Peru, Spain, Honduras and a few others with live music and authentic food. Break out your best samba, cumbia, salsa and merengue moves in the dance area to live performances. Sample your way through Latin America with all the enchiladas, pupusas and ropa vieja you can eat. There will also be international dance shows and a performance by Charlie Cardona.

If you and your family can only make it to one festival this year, the California Strawberry Festival should be at the top of the list. Fun for the whole family, the festival promises carnival rides, games, arts and crafts, bungee jumping, strawberry pie eating contests, strawberry tart throwing challenges, a strawberry recipe contest and lots more. There will also be lots of food, strawberry concoctions as well as hamburgers, hot dogs and ribs. An estimated 1.5 million strawberries are expected to be consumed during the weekend long event, so get in on the delicious fun. Park opens at 10am.

Strawberries not your thing? How about cherries? With just a skip outside of spring, the Beaumont Cherry Festival invites you to its 97th annual cherry extravaganza. From car shows to live concerts to a pancake breakfast and a cherry festival parade, this sweet event promises a great time for the entire family. Amusement park rides, food, arts and craft vendors and a whole lot more guaranteed. Be sure to bring your appetite as there will be lots of cherry creations to try.There's also a free shuttle to the fair grounds.

Take your spring outings to new heights with the Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival. Enjoy a wine and beer pairing session as the sky fills with colorful hot-air balloons. If you can get out of bed to make it on time, the spectacular balloon launch is at 6:30am. From there the activities commence with hot-air balloon rides, live music, a diverse food court and an amazing “balloon glow” at sunset. Local wineries and brewers are sponsors of the event and will be serving some of their best selections.
