You may also visit the local studios and take in an art walk and festival for some hands-on activities. Nurture your children's creativity while honing their artistic appreciation at these special summer events.

Art is accessible. Art is for everyone. You and your family can experience it up close and personal at the Sawdust Art & Craft Festival. Hundreds of exhibitors are on hand to display their paintings, ceramics, photography, glass works and watercolor. Interact with the artists and watch them create a masterpiece before your eyes. You and your kids can participate in one of the many art classes and workshops. Demonstrations are ongoing and are accompanied by live music on multiple entertainment stages. The Sawdust Art Festival is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting local art education and appreciation. The festival runs from June 28 through Sept. 1, 2013.

The Irvine Fine Arts Center wants to help you foster your inner artist at any age, in any and every medium. Home to a vast and inspirational art collection, and a stunning rotation of exhibits, the OCMA also features a variety of hands-on workshops and summer events. Get creative with the whole family during all-ages Studio Sundays. Join junior artists from all over the county for the OCMA Project of the Month. These interactive art projects include entertainment, dancing and community interaction. Enjoy free admission every second Sunday, and children 12 and under are free every day.

Held on the third Thursday of each month, families can enjoy this special event throughout the summer. See, admire and even purchase the talents of world-renowned, local and student artists in the glorious Huntington Beach Downtown Business District.
