Whether you like oyster shooters or fried oysters, Orange County has the benefit of being a coastal city with plenty of access to oysters from around the world. From Laguna Beach to Costa Mesa, Brea and elsewhere, here are the best places in Orange County to get oysters.

Guaranteed fresh, or just one day out of the water, the oysters at Shuck Oyster Bar are as plentiful as they are tasty. With over 50 types to choose from, you can't go wrong. Shuck's also gets inventive with fried oyster taco's as well as just plain fried oysters. But, if you just want the traditional, choose from your favorite location. They're only $3 each and well worth it.

Serving up plump and tasty oysters on the half shell, TAPS' oysters come from the waters of Canada as well as Washington's Puget Sound and in Carlsbad. Available for lunch and dinner, choose between raw oysters, charbroiled (broiled with garlic herb butter and grated Romano cheese) or their Rockefeller oysters topped with spinach, bacon, onion, cheese and then baked with hollandaise sauce.

Favorites include the oysters rockefeller on a bed of sea salt and oyster shooters. In addition, try out the oyster sampler. Choose between Atlantic oysters (from the east coast), pacific oysters (Japanese oysters), as well as Kumamoto which come from the southern most island of Japan. With some vinegary sauce, red cocktail sauce, freshly grated horseradish, you can't go wrong.
