Restaurant week kicks off giving you week-long access to some of the best culinary deals in the region. Two fabulous wine-themed events bring out the wine connoisseur in all of us, and the World-Premier of the American Ballet's The Sleeping Beauty takes the stage at Segerstrom. Diana Vishneva and Marcelo Gomes will lead the opening night cast of the American Ballet Theatre's World Premiere of the classic ballet The Sleeping Beauty. Choreographed by Marius Petipa with collaboration by ABT Artist in Residence Alexi Ratmansky, the company will stage this classic ballet with the aid of the Pacific Symphony performing Tchaikovsky's beloved score. Free pre-show lobby activities include viewing costume sketches and a set model, coloring stations for children, and a pre-show talk discussing fun facts about The Sleeping Beauty. Through March 8.

One of the biggest names in Italian winemaking, Gaia Gaja, will host an intimate Three-Course Luncheon & Wine Pairing event at Fashion Island's California-inspired Italian restaurant and wine shop, CUCINA enoteca Newport Beach. The 30th Anniversary Season of International City Theatre in Long Beach kicks off with "End of the Rainbow," a tour de force musical drama spanning the final days of Judy Garland. Directed by John Henry Davis and staring Gigi Bermingham in the role of the legendary actress and singer, Peter Quilter's play follows Garland through Christmas 1968 where she clutches at straws to save her career and finances with fiancé number five, Mickey Deans, at her side. The show features some of Garland's most celebrated songs including "The Man That Got Away," "Come Rain or Come Shine," and "Somewhere Over The Rainbow."

This weekend begins the start of the Dana Point Festival of Whales, celebrating the roundtrip migration of the California Gray Whales, who make their annual pilgrimage from Alaska to Baja and back each year.
