Pasadena's answer to the artwalk craze has resonated with an enthusiastic community that has turned ArtNight into an annual pilgrimage that saw some 28,000 visitors last year alone. Spaced out over some 16 different destinations throughout the city, independent galleries, the Armory Center, museums, the city library, and even City Hall play host to local artists in a neighborhood-based celebration that marries art, music, entertainment, and food trucks naturally. With each location staying open late and opening their doors for free, the people of Pasadena and beyond are invited to checkout the art, mix, mingle, and spend an evening getting lost in the city. With shuttles operating to help get visitors to and from the different locations, ArtNight is a citywide party that is the perfect way to spend a Friday night.

The taco in Los Angeles is about as fundamental as the hot dog is to baseball. The city is brimming with destinations all serving their finest contribution to the ultimate street food. Having a competition involving the taco is a tough task but tackling a Vegan taco is an added caveat that is enough to pique most foodies' interest. Café Gratitude within the Larchmont area is hosting nine of the city's best chefs all vying for the title of best Vegan taco. Mick Weldon of 100 Tacos, Raul Medina of Taqueria la Venganza, Andrew Perez of Organix, and Ernesto Moreno of Café Gratitude will be just a few of the competing chefs. Guests need $20 to score the goods and cast their vote, with all proceeds going to the Los Angeles Humane Society. Not that you needed a reason to enjoy nine signature tacos, but with the money going to charity and the ingredients coming from responsible sources, this is top-notch tortilla-wrapped goodness.

Now in it's 13th year, the museum hosts a Mourning Tour, in line with the time of the season of Halloween. Jimmy Eat World is taking to the stage at The Roxy this weekend and there's just no way the show will be anything less than stellar.
