Popping up all over Orange County, Dog parks are becoming increasingly popular as they are a great way for owners to give their four-legged friends a chance to run, play and socialize. Here are some of the best places to take your dog for a run in the park in Orange County.

Also known by locals as Bark Park, the two-acre grassy area between the hills of Laguna Coast Wilderness Park and the Aliso/Wood Canyons Regional Wilderness Park is a local favorite for dog owners. It has plenty of room for the dogs to play and build up camaraderie with fellow dogs in the area. There is a section dedicated to small dogs and one section dedicated to large dogs.

Consisting of two separate areas where half of the area is dedicated to small dogs that weigh less than 25 pounds and the other half is for the larger dogs, the Wildcatters Dog Park in Brea has been a great addition to the city. With lots of grass and trees with benches for those looking for shade, the park also offers pedestal drinking fountains with attached dog bowls for your dogs along with dog waste clean-up stations. Want to run with your pup ON the beach? Well, in Huntington Beach you can do just that at their special dog beach. This location proves to be a local favorite to bring dogs for a nice beach experience. The beach is full of friendly dog owners with their little four-legged friends and there is plenty of room for everyone to enjoy their time. Please note that well-socialized dogs are welcomed to the beach. The Preservation Society of Huntington Dog Beach is a non-profit organization that helps preserve the access to the beach for the dogs and to keep it clean for all those who attend.

Located on the corner of Arlington Drive and Newport Boulevard in TeWinkle Park, this dog park has plenty of trees with shade for those who bring their dogs. Open at dawn, the permanent facility is shared with a skate park that is open with plenty of new lights to keep it bright until 9 p.m. It is a two-acre off-leash park that is administered by the Costa Mesa Bark Park Foundation and is made possible with the help of volunteers and dependent on donations.

With watering facilities, handicap accessibility, many lights and the main yard separates the small dogs from the rest, this location has been one of the best off-leash parks for locals in the area. For those who work late and struggle to take their dogs for a walk after work because of parks closing too early, this park is open until 10 p.m. too which makes it a lifesaver for those situations. There are also lots of benches for the owners to sit back and relax while they watch their dogs enjoy their time at the park.
