Best Boozy Holiday Desserts in L.A.

Homemade sweets are great, of course, but there are a number of outstanding desserts at restaurants and bakeries across the city that can't be missed. What's even better is that all of the ones below feature a touch, or in some cases a much heavier helping, of booze. 'Tis the season for an edible tipple.

Salt & Straw continues to churn out unique flavors every month, and December means the ice cream shop has fashioned its versions of holiday classics. Peppermint Cocoa, Mincemeat Pie and Butter Roasted Chestnut are a few of the newest additions, along with Bourbon Pecan Pie and Spiked Butterscotch Eggnog. The last two are sure to make you feel warm and fuzzy. You can only snag these special flavors through December 20th. In the meantime, eat all the scoops you can handle.

M.B. Post just added a new dessert to its winter menu that pairs two fruits with a buttery, nutty topping. It's a warm apple and pear cobbler with housemade rum raisin ice cream. A mini mass of bubbling pome fruits under tender, walnut-studded topping arrives at the table in a ramekin perfectly sized for one. Move fast if you want to spoon up the melting, raisin-dotted ice cream on top.
