Best Art Exhibits Coming To OC In 2016

Art helps bring about culture, and in Orange County all art forms are represented throughout the region. Here are the top locations to view art exhibits coming to the Orange County area.

Peter Krasnow: "Maverick Modernist"

The comprehensive exhibition of Los Angeles artist Peter Krasnow will be on display throughout this summer. The Ukrainian immigrated to the United States in 1907. He entered Los Angeles with his wife in 1922, where he was with notable peers including Weston, Henrietta Shore and much more. There will be approximately 50 painting and 20 photos on display with the first time the artist's work will be shown in more than 40 years.

The unique and refreshing exhibit coming to Orange County includes the Once Upon a Time... Exploring the World of Fairy Tales will be one to not miss this year. The exhibit will provide a look at fairy tales throughout history. Children and adults will learn about the meaning and history of tales where you can enter the magical portal and castles that were so beloved in the storybook world. From Cinderella to Jack and the Beanstalk, all the various stories will be on display for all to enjoy.

Laguna Beach is widely known for its artistic environment and it's only fitting that an event like Laguna Art-A-Fair would take place in the city filled with art. The selection of art from all different mediums for the summer festival provides a rich experience for visitors as they leisurely walk among the various works of art by artists from all over the world. There are also adult artist workshops that take place daily from 10:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. The festival will be celebrating its 50th year and will have opening day on June 24th.

Surf City brings together the surfing culture that is so prominent in the Huntington Beach region. The museum was founded by a woman who never surfed but had a deep respect and appreciation for the art. The "Famers" exhibit celebrates the 34 years of pioneers in the industry. The champions, innovators and those that have earned the respect in surfing will be honored in both the surfing walk of fame and the surfers hall of fame. Come and get some insight into the important element of Huntington Beach's culture.
