While everyone looks forward to having a couple of days away from the office, how you choose to spend those few precious days is almost as important as having them. Quality time usually means getting off the couch and making a few memories to get you recharged for Monday morning. Out in Orange County, there is always a healthy amount of people, places, and faces that are certainly worth your while. If you were not sure on what to do this weekend, here is a quick reference list that should help narrow down the options. Let's get your post St. Paddy's Day weekend started.

Friday, March 18
the observatory santa ana - Nightlife & Music Live Music, Observatory OC
(The Observatory OC via Facebook)

Experience The Purple Reign
Future Hendrix
The Observatory
3503 S Harbor Blvd.
Santa Ana, CA 92704
(714) 957-0600

Arguably the biggest rapper on the planet right now, Future Hendrix just finished his triumph at Austin's SXSW where his featured appearances drew some of the biggest crowds of the festival. Just how big is the Atlanta trapper? Friday night is the second of a two night run that has not only a huge ticket price, but truthfully Santa Ana's Observatory could have added a third and fourth night and still had a tough time meeting the demand. Going back to back with his mega release with Drake, only to follow it up with a solo release months later, "Purple Reign," the internet is regularly flooded with material from Hendrix and that only stokes the fire. Even if hip hop is not your thing, the up close and personal confines of the Observatory's main room for an artist this big should make for one major spectacle.

Saturday, March 19

Beach Cruiser Meet
Main & Pacific Coast Highway
Huntington Beach, CA
(760) 468-2115

If there is anything else Huntington Beach is known for other than it's dedication to surfing, it's the rides that cruise up and down it's Palm Tree-lined streets. This weekend, the 16th annual Beach Cruiser Meet welcomes all pre-1970 Woodies and Beach Cruiser vehicles. With hundreds of beautiful automobiles positioned along Main Street, Walnut, Olive Avenues, and at Pier Plaza, this particular show even gets the concession to have cars positioned on the Pier for a beautiful marriage of car and surf culture in one photo. A stroll on Main Street and into the iconic Huntington Pier is already a great way to spend the day. Add some of the finest examples of American automotive engineering and Huntington Beach transforms into an open air car museum on the sand.

Catch A Double Feature
Comic Book Hideout
215 W. Commonwealth Ave.
Fullerton, CA 92832

For only the third time, Fullerton's destination for comic books, graphic novels, and pop culture purchasing will be hosting a double feature walk-in. Visitors will be able to come in, cruise the bins and watch the cult classic feature, "Donnie Darko." The closing feature is the 2015 post-apocalyptic Turbo Kid, a film tandem that is sure to strike a chord with comic book fans. This event is free for customers and another example of how Comic Book Hideout does more to be a place for people to gather as opposed to just shop.

More of a resort than your average water park, the massive 105,000 square-foot weatherproof playground is a kid's dream. Designed with mom and dad in mind as well, this indoor water world is set to a comfy 84 degrees and boasts 603 themed suites in an effort to make a trip to the waterpark a complete weekend getaway. With some 16 different splash zones, slides, and lagoons plus dry attractions like laser tag, bowling, mini golf, and the Northern Lights arcade, you could take the kids but you might have just as much fun if you found a babysitter.

Get Cultured
Orange County Museum of Art
850 San Clemente Dr.
Newport Beach, CA 92660
(949) 759-1122

This Newport Beach cultural destination is one of Orange County's most important. With a collection of well over 3,000 pieces, all with a focus that emphasizes modern California art alongside international holdings of historic relevance, it services some 20,000 guests annually. OCMA featured exhibits have showcased California's contribution to movements like Pop Art, Minimalism, Installation Art, and three-dimensional Assemblage in a way that leaves the pretentious art decorum aside. Offering programs like Studio Sundays that allow visitors to take on a more proactively role as artists themselves, or Cinema Orange, offering intimate screenings of independent films and shorts, a weekend at the OCMA is one well spent.
