Although it feels like summer just got underway, it's safe to say we are in the dog days. The school supply displays are already creeping into the store aisles, we are on the backside of the baseball All-Star game, and night time lights of the fair are back in town. Orange County is bustling this weekend with music, art, food, shopping, and so much more. Regardless of your budget, regardless of whether you are looking for something family-friendly or something for grown folks, the options are aplenty in the OC. Here is the rundown of what's happening for your weekend.

Honda Center
2695 E Katella Ave
Anaheim, CA 92806

Widely regarded as one of the most popular performers among contemporary artists, Mr. Worldwide's live production is a potent mix of hip hop, dance, and Latin rhythm that translates into a two-hour party. With a consistent string of radio hits and collaborative efforts with the likes of Ne-Yo, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez, Enrique Iglesias, and T-Pain, a Pitbull show transforms an entire arena into a dance club. The second and final Southern California stop on his "Bad Man" tour, Pitbull is the kind of performer that crosses genre lines and manages to restore the spectacle and stage show to a pop concert.

The Brew Hee Haw
OC Fair & Events Center
88 Fair Dr.
Costa Mesa, CA 92626

The Orange County Fair is a summer tradition. Between the rides, the games, the live entertainment, and all things fried, a trip to the fair is a full day and then some. Ratcheting up the food and beverage draw, the folks from the OC Brew Ha Ha are running with a Western/Americana theme to dress a craft beer experience that is loaded with some 80 different fine beer options. With paid admission, guests gain access to all the usual fair attractions as well as access to the kind of beer garden that far exceeds the typical plastic cup of watered down suds. Local purveyors like 4 Sons Brewing, Bottle Logic, and Valiant are among the options for an afternoon of endless beer tastings that are bound to pair perfectly with a funnel cake, a turkey leg, or that footlong corn dog. Only happening for the opening weekend of the fair, live music and country ambiance makes for a well-rounded drinking experience.

Coinciding with the Laguna art destination that is the Pageant of the Masters, this family-focused afternoon is a three-hour block with the kids in mind. From an elaborate marionette show, to an interactive treasure hunt with art themed questions, to loads of activities ranging from printmaking to painting, kids get a hands-on experience that allows them to appreciate the Pageant the same way the adults do. The attraction is free with festival admission and kids 12-and-under are free all summer long. The Pageant of the Masters runs through August but Family Art Day is one of the most popular weekend days of the season.

Down in Irvine, there is a wildly imaginative place that does an incredible job of exploring the wonder that can be found in real life. Case in point, the Super Powers exhibit that is running through September delves into the people and organizations are practically super heroic. From veterinarians to scientists, from doctors to educators, kids not only get to dress the part of a superhero, but they get to interact with challenges that apply the same real life attributes of these important jobs into a scenarios befitting a page in a comic book. From a zipline, wind tunnel, and rope maze, these activities reinforce education in a way that allows kids to have fun and embrace the wonder of everyday people and their extraordinary contributions. Thus Sunday also happens to be National Ice Cream Day, so to entice you, the cold stuff will be on hand and aplenty.

The Camp
2937 Bristol St.
Costa Mesa, CA 92626
(714) 966-6661

It's not fair to call this shopping center. Embracing a green ethos, the Camp is a collection of retailers, eateries, and boutiques that operate with a different kind of awareness. Sourcing their goods locally, the food, crafts, and products are curated at The Camp in a way that is cohesive, consistent. In the same location guests can dine at eclectic culinary destinations like Native Foods, Ecco, and Taco Asylum after getting a quality tattoo at Out Limits, only to do a bit of shopping at Seed People's Market before rounding it off with a night cap at Mesa Lounge. Regularly rotating a list of events like film screenings, live music, and tastings, everything about the Camp is done in good taste. From the welcoming ambiance to the collection of store fronts, don't you dare call this a mini-mall.
