New Year's Eve is always the perfect time to party. People are generally in a festive mood, so no matter where you end up, you can count on some jovial sorts giving way to a new year of opportunity and happiness. In Orange County, there are a few places that best exemplify this tradition and most of them like to use alcohol as a way of ensuring the celebration goes on all night long. Stop by any of these choices for a guaranteed good time and make sure to find someone special before the clock strikes midnight and the big ball drops.

Young, hip and flashy: these are words most people don't associate with a New Year's party as black ties and cocktail dresses have dominated the landscape for eons. Give Heat Ultra Lounge a shot if the idea of wearing a suit and tie while getting wild seems insane, especially if you don't want to have to pick confetti out of your lapel. It sits right in the Gardenwalk of Anaheim and is conveniently located near just about all freeways needed to get you home safe and sound. This party is going to have just about everything a young OC person would need.

This Costa Mesa hotel party is in its third year, offering couples and strangers alike an open bar and a DJ to ring in the new year. This event offers something most parties such as these cannot: space. With three rooms to party in and a different vibe throughout each one, you should never have the same experience twice if you space yourself out all night.

This is sponsored by the Cuban Social Club, so expect a little Latin flair as the upscale get-together gets glamorous throughout the night. Some parties are hoity-toity and require certain dress in order to keep up appearances, but any kind of party that involves signing a waiver is on a whole different level. The OC Roller Girls have an open scrimmage available to say goodbye to 2013 in a hard-hitting style. The whole shindig takes place at The Rinks in Huntington Beach, so you might just catch an Anaheim Duck or two before the ball drops. You need some basic skating skills before joining up, and there are different spots for your particular gender and age group. Do not be afraid to crash into 2014 in a big way that doesn't require a cocktail dress or a big bank account!

There are few better places to be than a comedy club on New Year's Eve. You get everything you need for a classic party: friends, drinks, laughs, and with Pablo Francisco at the Irvine Improv, you are guaranteed to have all three. There will be two sets that night, with the later containing free food, drinks and some party favors to celebrate the passage of time. The early showing is also a great choice if you want to check out another party that night without sacrificing any of the comedy. This is an annual gathering and with the OC Fair discontinuing its once-beloved NYE tradition, this might take the crown for the best annual party to celebrate the new year!
