'Before I Die': Provocative Art Display Makes Its Way To South Bay Campus

CARSON (CBSLA.com) — California State University, Dominguez Hills has become the latest location for a provocative art display.

The "Before I Die" wall asks passersby what they hope to accomplish before death.

It was started by New Orleans artist Candy Chang five years ago after losing someone close to her.

Since its inception, though, over 1,000 walls have now been created in over 70 countries, according to Chang's website.

The display encourages passersby to finish the thought by writing out their desires in chalk.

Some of what has been written has included hopes of becoming a parent, backpacking to Europe, and mastering the bass guitar.

The community bucket list fills up every day and is power washed overnight, and fills up again.

The wall will be up for one more day in Carson for students to stop, pause, and consider their aspirations big and small.
