A Year Later, Police Continue To Pursue Leads In Theft Of Crucifix From Oxnard Church
OXNARD (CBSLA.com) — Police in Oxnard say they're continuing to pursue leads in the nearly year-old case of a theft of a crucifix from a church.
"This week marks the one year anniversary of the theft of the crucifix from Santa Clara Church," police said in a written statement.
The cross was taken on Sept. 24 of last year from the church located in the 300 Block of South "E" Street.
Police believe the suspect is a Hispanic male in his 30s.
He is 5-foot-9, weighs 170 pounds, and has a shaved head, dark eyes, and a large, bushy mustache.
Police said the cross has sentimental value to both the church and its parishioners.
Anyone with more information about this case was asked to call Oxnard police at (805) 385-7740.
