4.0-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Near Rancho Palos Verdes
RANCHO PALOS VERDES (CBSLA.com) — A magnitude-4.0 earthquake shook part of the Southland Wednesday.
The quake struck six miles south of Rancho Palos Verdes and seven miles southwest of San Pedro at 1 p.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
No damage or injuries were immediately reported.
One Torrance resident told KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO he definitely felt a jolt.
"It was a jarring sensation...it shook me pretty good," he said. "I've been through a number of earthquakes; this one felt bigger than 4.0."
The temblor, which was originally reported to be a magnitude-3.9, was the latest in a series of quakes that have hit the Southland in recent weeks.
