2 Children Among 4 Dead In Bloomington House Fire

BLOOMINGTON (CBSLA.com) – A man, woman and two children died in a house fire in Bloomington Wednesday morning.

According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department, the blaze broke out before 7:30 a.m. at a single-story home in the 17900 block of Santa Ana Avenue.

Responding firefighters entered the home and discovered a man, woman and girl between the ages of 5 and 10 inside. The man and girl were found dead on scene, SBCFD reported. The woman was pulled out of the home unresponsive. She was transported to a nearby hospital, were she died from her injuries, the fire department said.

The body of a second child was later discovered in the home, fire officials confirmed to CBS2 Wednesday afternoon.

It took firefighters 20 minutes to bring the blaze under control. Most of the damage was confined to a front bedroom.

The names of the victims, their relationship to one another and the exact causes of their deaths were not immediately disclosed by authorities. However, a friend identified the victims to CBS2 as a married couple with two young daughters.

The SBCFD Office of the Fire Marshal and the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department is investigating the cause of the blaze and a criminal investigation has been opened.
