DWP Crews Repair Water Main After Break Floods Tarzana Neighborhood
TARZANA (CBSLA.com) — The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power Friday repaired a broken water main that flooded a San Fernando Valley neighborhood.
The break was reported in the 5000 block of Topeka Drive in Tarzana late Thursday evening, officials said.
According to the DWP, a six-inch sewer pipe connected to a vacant home and an eight-inch water main that was installed in the 1950s both broke, DWP Supervisor Jaime Castrello said.
Residents reported flooding in the streets as well as in their front and back yards.
"We have homeowner's insurance. That's what we have it for," homeowner Ed Lucks said.
