2 Women Accused Of Stealing Flowers, Mementos From Gravesites In Redlands
REDLANDS (AP) — Police say two women are under arrest after several months of thefts of flowers and other mementos left on graves at a Southern California cemetery.
Redlands police said in a statement Tuesday that the women's vehicle was pulled over a few blocks from Hillside Memorial Park on Monday night, and inside they found wind chimes, decorative metal art and a child's pink purse that had been taken from a gravesite minutes earlier.
Police say 26-year-old Esha Sumaya Khondoker, of Redlands, and 22-year-old Kulreet Nakai, of Rancho Cucamonga, were arrested.
Police say the suspects admitted taking items from graves at the cemetery for several months, and searches of their homes turned up additional items.
