2 Killed In Fiery 101 Freeway Wreck Identified As Pro Billiards Player, Brother

WOODLAND HILLS ( — A professional billiards player and his older brother were identified as the two men killed in a fiery wreck on the 101 Freeway Tuesday, according to reports.

The names of the men killed in the crash were not officially released, but coaches and friends said they were 21-year-old Brendan Crockett, who had clinched a U.S. Junior National Billiards Championship and a contender for this year's U.S. national billiards team, and his 24-year-old brother, Jeff, according to the Los Angeles Daily News. The brothers lived in Woodland Hills.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the brothers were killed when their BMW struck a big rig while heading south on the 101 Freeway early Tuesday. The 12:16 a.m. crash north of Lewis Road left the BMW on fire and lodged beneath the rear of the truck's trailer.

The truck driver was not hurt.
